Mobile Wallet refers to a digital wallet that can be used to store your money and debit/credit card information into a secure platform. It is an app you need to install on your phone. After installation, you need to create an account and add your debit/credit card details. Once you have added your card details you can use the app to make bill payments, recharge phones/DTH, shop online, transfer money to and from any bank accounts. 1. Paytm

Paytm is India’s largest mobile payments platform. They have over 220 million registered users. It is the consumer brand of One97 Communications. Paytm was launched as a prepaid mobile recharge website back in 2010. The mobile wallet was launched in 2013 and has flourished due to the increasing digitization happening in India as well the recent demonetization that took place in November 2016.
It is headquartered in New Delhi, India. Some of the major investors include Ant Financial (Alipay), Mediatek, Sapphire Venture, SAIF Partners, Silicon Valley Bank. In 2017, Paytm received funding of $1.4 billion from Softbank.
2. MobiKwik

Mobikwik is one of India’s largest mobile payments network. It is available at more than 50,000 offline and online avenues. It is very secure and is available on Andriod, iOS, and Windows. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) granted a license for the prepaid payment instrument to Mobikwik in July 2013.
Mobikwik has received a total funding of about $127 million in 6 rounds from 9 investors. Some of the major investors are Tree Line Asia, Sequoia Capital, GMO Ventures, Net1.

4. Citrus Pay

It is a mobile wallet startup based in Bangalore. You can pay bills at over 3000 outlets in Bangalore and Pune. MomoeXpress claims to be the fastest checkout system with which you can pay in 0.3 seconds.
Momoe has received funding of $1.2 million in 2 rounds from 3 investors. Major investors are Jungle Ventures, IDG Ventures India.
